balncer in vinyl replacement window

Home Owner from Carlsbad, CA

Part # 801020

Patent 5232208

These are the only numbers I see. Someone said they think this is a constant force balancer. The window will only open a few inches. It is like the metal piece is crinkling up on the left side of the window. The piece needs to be replaced. Sure hope you can help us. The window was purchased from The Window Factory in San Diego but they have gone out of business.

Thank you and fingers crossed that you have the part we need.

Hello, Mary. Your pivot shoe looks like a match for our 15-111, which itself is compatible with the Series 160 coil spring. Look these parts over and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Tom

Would you please send me these parts and we will hope it works? It is getting warm and we need to open the window once again. Or do I order on a separate page?

Do you want to fly out to California and install it for me? (ha ha)

Hi

This is Mary (again) and I really need to get a window fixed. I thought I had a window guy to fix it but he has decided he is too busy to help me.

The window only opens a couple of inches. Earlier I sent pics and your reply indicated that I needed your pivot shoe 15-111 and Series 160 coil spring. I do not know what weight to order. Can you help?

The window that moves measures 42" x 28".

The top half of the window does not move.

This vinyl replacement window was purchased in 2007 from Window Factory in San Diego which is now out of business.

Their order form said the glass was HPE 3 and I have a note stating it has a LOW E 3 upgrade. Does that help?

I assume I would order two of each of these parts and replace on both the left and right, correct?

Thank you so much.

Mary

Hello, Mary. There should be a stamp printed on the band of the old coil springs that will tell you which Series 160 option to purchase. You will need to remove the springs to see this stamp.

We do recommend replacing the balances on both sides of the window, yes.
