bi-fold door pin to slide door along bottom track

A handy person from Norwalk, Connecticut says:
pin is steel i/4" diameter, 4 1/2" long including nylon slider cap. Pin has two grooves 1/2" apart around the middle

encircling pin is a spring 1 3/4" long, 5/8" in diameter for 1" narrowing to 3/8" at the othe end

the spring floats free on the pin in the door channel through which the pin passes. The spring would have to be fixed to the pin to springload the pin into the extended position to function as a door guide

As it is,a part may be missing allowing the spring to float.

The steel 6 panel doors are believed to have been installed 42 years ago

I'm afraid I can't think of a bifold pin having two grooves in the middle. May we see a picture of your pins and fittings? That would be a huge help.
A quick learner says:
Hi Paul - picture attached.

Thanks for the photo! I believe you have the old Peachtree bifold door. The pin thickness for these was 5/16", which would match our 21-071. This has two grooves and comes with the cone spring and E clip. I would double check your measurements just to be sure.
