bifold hardware dilemma

Quick Learner from Miami Beach
have metal bifold closet doors. The speed pins are black in color. I tried to heighten the door with the speed pin, but it very quickly dropped down as if the speed pin was stripped. Now the doors sit and rub against the floor when opening and closing. Is the speed pin the only item used to set the height of the doors? Is there not an alternative, more reliable item that will control the height of the doors to avoid rubbing on the floor?

Can you show us your existing hardware? Can you tell us the diameter of the pins and any caps atop those pins? And what is the brand name of the door (Is there still a label on the door that shows this)? We'll see what we can determine from there.
