block and tackle balance replacement

I have to repair a broken shoe for an inverted block and tackle , tilt window. Windows were installed in 2005. The metal piece in the window channel is stamped with 23B PA BSI.

Right now, I believe I just need the shoe. However, if the balance screws and shoes are sold in sets, I am interested in what is offered should I decide to switch out all the windows with two, newer more efficient mechanisms. What are you thoughts on total replacements? Is it necessary/advisable?

What is the cost of the parts?

Thank you for your help.

Hello there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. We sell the 15-236 shoe but keep in mind that broken shoes are a sign that the balances aren't too far behind. To replace the whole assembly, we recommend the S795-23 with the 23B stamp option which installs at the top of the window with a screw. You'll want to ensure your old balance does as well.

This comes attached with the 15-195 closed cam shoe by default which should work fine for you. Note that the 15-236 can't be used with our metal channels since they lack the groove your old one has.
