bottom entry door weather seal

A quick learner from Millersburg, Michigan says:
The weatherstrip appears to be nailed and or glued to the bottom of the door. there is no trackway or groove to allow you to slide the weatherstrip on. Looks like I would have to tear off the existing strip and make the surface flat. There are no mfgrs identification on the door other than Guardian Glass.
Can you advise on what to do ?

What I'd do is consider replacing this with the 58-176 type sweep. This wraps around bottom of the door and is mounted by screws to one side. Take a look and see what you think.
