bottom of storm door weather strip

Question

I have replaced my doors weather strip several times because it rips.  I have always used the double weather strip and wonder should I try the one layer instead. I have the Larson Secure Elegance storm door.

I'm not sure if using a single sweep instead of a double sweep will solve your problem. It would entirely depend on why it's ripping, exactly. If there's too much friction then a single sweep will rip the same regardless. You might want to try adjusting your door so that the sweep isn't dragging against the floor quite as much.
