please verify that the dimensions of the 58-162 are 1/8" across and 5/16" in height as the 5/16" seems very small. thank you

You are correct, the 5/16" height is not accurate. The height of the 58-162 bottom sweep is 7/16". I have updated the 58-162 product picture to reflect this change.

My storm door has a double sweep, and the inner one has torn lengthwise so that the top of it remains stuck in its channel.
How can I remove the old sweep?
I guess it should just slide in (and therefore out)? I also see two screws holding in the bottom part of the storm door. If I take out those screws will the bottom of the door come off, making my sweep change easier to do? Does the bottom piece of the door pull down or slide sideways once the screws are removed?

After removing the screws from the door sweep, removal will either be by sliding off or pulling down off door.
