Pivot bars snapping in half. What's the cause?

I keep snapping pivot bars on my windows. I bought four from you guys (26-226 which I am sure are the correct pieces). I am clearly doing something wrong on these and was hoping you could maybe give me some tips.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Can I ask if you're raising your sash before you tilt it in? One of the leading causes of pivot bars snapping in half is when the sash is tilted while fully closed. The window isn't made to pivot at that position, so it can cause excess strain on both the pivot shoe cam and pivot bar, causing one or the other (or both!) to break. Make sure to always raise the window a few inches before tilting in to avoid this kind of damage.
