broken coil balance spring

A home owner from Wyckoff, NJ says:
There are 3 photos, one showing the broken coil spring on our vinyl window, one showing the unbroken spring and the third showing that we do not have a notch to slide the parts in and out.

The shoe has the number 4 on it, so that must be the size.

I saw one of your videos showing you can use a jamb spreader set to open the jamb enough to work the parts in and out. We do not have these. Do you know anyone in NJ who can replace the parts if we order them?

Hello,

You'll need to remove your balance hardware to confirm but I suspect you could use our 15-087 housing pivot and S180 coils as replacements. The original coils should have a number stamped on them that will tell you the spring tension required to support your window.

We've also related a video demonstrating the cutout method to remove your hardware. Many of our customers are able to complete these repairs themselves but a local handyman should also be able to assist you. Thank you!
