Thanks for writing in! Your crank operator is not functioning correctly because the worm gear has been removed from the center of it. When this gear becomes stripped or dislodged from the operator, it cannot interact with the gears on the base of the operator which causes the issue you are having.
I am happy to provide you with a recommendation but I will need to see a photo of the entire operator to confirm the correct replacement. I am specifically looking to see a photo of the arm(s) and how the operator interacts with the swinging sash.
