Check out the measurements and dimensions of our 38-090 casement locking handle and see if this would make for a good replacement for you.

Did you happen to take a look at the 38-090 I previously recommended to see if this is a match? If not, take a look and see if this is compatible with your original lock.

A home owner from washington dc 20011 says:
yes, I order and put these in (two). they are an exact match for the broken latch and for good latches.
the broken latch handle would not go down. which is why I suspect it was broken by someone trying to force it.
the new one will not either. I have replaced broken parts but not fixed the source of the problem.
the window seems tight at the bottom but the gap at top corner.

Sounds like your window could have been "racked" possibly when it was installed. I don't believe it would be from a break in because the opening is at the top of the window. My thought is to open the window and check the locking linkage in the main frame of the window. See if it operates freely. Also see if it lines up properly with the lock. Try to operator the linkage by hand to make sure it goes up and down with out any problems. Maybe the locking tie bar needs to be re-aligned. If you still can't fix the lock you might need to have a professional take a look to see if they can some how "square" up the window.
