broken pivot shoe

Quick Learner from Manchester, CT
Window is a CertainTeed Bryn Mawr III vinyl window. The pivot shoe is 2" long, and it cracked at the bottom allowing the black cam to fall out. The pivot shoe is 9/16 wide. I think with the help of all the videos I can replace it if I can just identify the correct replacement part. Thanks for you help,
Kathleen

Hi Kathleen. It's a little difficult to tell what you have from this picture, or without seeing the pivot shoe removed from the window. That said, see our 15-180. I think this might be what you're looking for; but you're going to have to compare the dimensions, particularly the thickness and width, with your old pivot shoe to confirm it's a match.

Thanks for getting back to us! I agree with Bob, our 15-180 is a match for your shoe. They never made this style shoe in any other size. I can't imagine why the manufacturer would make the same shoe with only a 1/32" difference. It's possible that their official dimensions, which we used, are rounded up. Either way I feel pretty confident that it will work for you. There's nothing else on the market that comes close.

The gray piece is called a bushing, and it's a match for our 15-182. This goes on the posts you see on the detent clip (our 15-181) and cushions the coil spring so that it doesn't wobble when you install it.

Thank you for your response. The part you show, #15 - 180, is not the correct part - the width (or thickness) is listed as 17/32 inch, but my part is 9/16 inch. Also, I see white plastic in the circular part at the bottom, which in my part does not have white plastic in it but is an opening to accept the black plastic cam shown in the 2nd photo.

I have attached additional photos. First, I took off the white cover so I could show better the part that is cracked (#3). When I did that, a grey circular plastic piece fell out. I have a photo of the cover and the grey piece also (#4). I don't know what the grey piece was attached to. And lastly, I have a photo of the exposed plastic part that is cracked with the black cam held near the opening into which it fits (#5). Hope this helps identify the part I need to buy. Thanks for your help!

Ok, I will order the 15-180. Is there a diagram somewhere that show how the grey bushing and the white detent clip all connect to the coil? Since everything came apart when I took the detent clip off I never saw how they went together.
Thanks again,
Kathleen

We don't have a diagram but it's pretty straightforward. If you flip your detent clip over you'll see two tubes, or posts, sticking out. The bushing goes over these tubes, then the coil goes over the bushing.

Hi Tom and Bob,
Just wanted to close the loop and let you know that the part you indicated was right, and I was able to repair my window today!! It took me awhile to figure out how to get everything back in place, but the Swisco video (and others on YouTube) were very helpful. Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated. It made my whole week to be able to repair this myself!
