as you can see the spirals are encased in a plastic tube, which i have no idea how to remove. I also cannot get the broken spirals down to check length etc. can you help?
i could also use the tool to adjust the tension on all windows. thanks

Hello,
It looks like you may be having an issue with the balance cover. These can be difficult to snap off but it is possible. Unfortunately, there's no real trick to it. You'd have to kind of pinch it inward to pop it out of the window jamb. You could also try using a screwdriver. Just be mindful that the frame is vinyl and can crack, so don't be too rough with it.
Once the cover is removed, the spiral should be simple to remove in order to measure the tube length and diameter. That information will allow you to choose between the S600 and S900 spiral balances. Thank you.
