If installed at the jambs, will the 58-053 allow double hung windows to remain operable? What is the expected lifespan of this product?

If you are thinking of installing this along the jamb vertically so the double hung sash will slide up and down against it, I don't think this is what you want. Normally on the side jambs they use a wool pile weather stripping. The bubble seal is a rubber type weather strip and will cause dragging against the sash and most likely will wear out.

Thanks for the reply.
We need a 10+ year system. The windows are very large. In addition, the laboratory has strict climate control range. Can you suggest a more robust system than wool pile? We also considered spring bronze.

It is hard to suggest what type of weather stripping without actually seeing the job site. Maybe your local hardware store can suggest what to use for your application.
