can't secure screw to shower door long strip

A quick learner from Mount Pleasant SC 29466 says:

botom glass door frame that joins the longer frame metal part secured by a screw is not screwing into female end because it is either stripped or partially broken. what do you suggest. parts [ sliding guides did fit well. Replace metal part ? Strip measures 223/4" long and 13/4" wide. or is there a longer screw. small part of metal broke off.

Need help.

Hey, David. If I were you, I'd take the screw to your nearest hardware store and get two stainless steel screws: one that is 1/4" longer and one that is 1/2" longer. First, try the 1/4" screw to see if that holds the frame together. If not, the 1/2" longer screw should do it.
