Jim, we deal with a lot of these operator parts. If you can send pictures with measurements, we can help narrow down your part.

Check out 39-083, awning window crank, this sounds like what you are describing, if not please send images.

I have a caradco awning window installed in 1990. The opening mechanism has broken. It is a crank centered on the inside frame, two arms work in a sissor action and are fastened at the center of the window. At full open the arms are virtually straight. The frame is wood inside clad with aluminum and measurement inside is approx. 20 inches wide. Hope you can help, as of course now the window will not lock.
Thanks
Jim

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I removed the operator and stamped on it was the brand "Truth". There were various numbers on it. The operator was numbered 40245, the arm closest to the crank side 40510, the second set of arms 30895 and finally the sash bracket 20008. Mesurement of arms in closed position is 21 1/2". Do you feel your suggestion of part 39-083 will work. Let me know as I would like to order today. Thanks.

Please send us detailed photos, we would be happy to confirm this operator for you.
The numbers stamped on the arms do not identify the operator, the same arms may be found on a different style operator.
