casement door mystery

Handy Person from Saanicjton, BC, Canada
I have a casement door that has a problem: from a closed position, turning the crank handle counter clockwise opens the door. However, when turning the handle clockwise to close the door, the whole shaft just backs out of the casing. The door can be closed only by helping it along from outside while maintaining push pressure while turning clockwise. I have pics of the handle, shaft and housing if it would help. I can find no brand name anywhere, and the mechanism appears to have been installed at the time the door was fabricated. In other words, I can't just unscrew the housing and replae it, its burried in the door frame.

Thanks for reaching out! The worm gear from your operator has become stripped. To repair the window, you'll need to replace the entire operator.

I believe you'll need the 39-015 Roto Gear Window Crank to replace it. Carefully look over the specifications below to confirm.

The compatible accessories can be found tagged below.
