casement window

Question

I cant get my casement window to close properly. The bottom grabs the tie bar but not the top.  the tie-bar is about 48" long. I have about 7 windows like this.  The company that put the windows in went out of business. I am somewhat handy.

It sounds like your window is out of adjustment. See if there is some type of bracket, clip or secondary lock on the upper part of your window. I'm thinking there may be an adjustment you can make by "turning a screw" or moving a clip.
