catalog operator is close, but...

A quick learner from California says:
I have a casement window that needs a new operator. It looks just like your 39-090, with one exception: the outer arm is 5".
The outer arm on my operator is 3-1/2"
Am I overlooking something? Can you get that operator?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Thanks for posting. Unfortunately, we do not have a version of this operator with that size link arm. However, you could potentially drill out the arms from both operators, then install the old link arm on the new operator with a 62-014 rivet. Could this work for you?
A quick learner from Marin Co CA says:
Hi Tom, I was thinking of ordering the 39-090 and reducing the outer arm down to 3-1/2in and drilling the holes to match but your idea is much better. I didn't know you had rivets available, Whats the best tool to use to compress the rivet to the arms, I will be doing this to 6 windows so any suggestions on that would be appreciated. Thanks Again Jim

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
You could actually just use a hammer. I would position the arm over a steel plate and hammer the rivet in.
