certainteed sash removal

Question

I just purchased 2 replacement pivots from you as I broke them trying to remove the broken bottom window sash of a 2005 certainteed double hung window. I cant figure out how to remove the sash- the sliding pivot pin holder seems very difficult to turn and I assume you need to turn it up and down to get the pivot pin out of the top of it. do I need to also replace the sliding pivot holders? what is the trick to removal?

Thanks for posting. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. It sounds like the pivot block is frozen, and that's why your tilt bars are breaking. You should take a look at this tutorial video on how to replace a tilt window spiral balance; in it, you can see the proper method of removing a tilt window sash.
