certainteed window parts

A quick learner from Lancaster says:
I have a certainteed vinyl replacement window that needs a balance the coil spring # SA3610. The window is dbl hung 47.5 x 47.5
A quick learner from Lancaster says:
The window was made in 2001. Should I also replace the cam slide that attaches to the spring

Paul from SWISCO responded:
Hello! I'm not sure exactly what you have, but start by looking at our S170-336 and see if that's a match. If not, we will need pictures.

You don't necessarily have to replace the pivot shoe if it still works.
A quick learner from Whittier, CA says:
Hello,
I have replaced both coiled balance springs on my Certainteed tilt single-hung sash with S170-336 springs. The sash is still very hard to raise. Should I have used a heavier spring? The window is 46"w x 36"h.

Thanks for any tips!

Tom from SWISCO responded:

That will depend on how heavy the sash is. Can you tell me how many springs you used per side? Can you also tell me the exact weight of the sash, down to the ounce? I can then calculate whether the S170-336 was the appropriate weight.
