change pivot bar when broke

Question

hello, trying to change the pivot bar.  the pivot bar is broke off inside the window just before the screw.  I got the screw out but can't get a hold of the pivot bar its  broke and seems rusted in there..  is there any way to get it out does the window come apart or should it just fall out after the screw is taken out?

Good Afternoon,

First, check and see if the window is a take-apart type (not a welded frame). If it is take-apart, you should be able to get to the corner gusset (which holds the pivot bar in). You might be able to apply heat to the pivot bar if it is too rusted and won't come out. If you do apply heat, be careful not to apply too much as you will risk melting the plastic.
