channel balance help

Quick Learner
Hi
Can you help me identify the channel balance type from the attached photos? I also need a quote for four balances — two at 25 5/8" and two at 21 3/4".
Thank you

Thanks for your patience during this busy season. We can supply this balance, but only as a custom order due to its configuration. We just need more information from you before you before we get started.

First, you mentioned two sizes, but one is irregular. They should both measure in 5/8" increments, assuming they're the same design. Can you confirm that? If they are different, we need to see photos of the other one.

I also need you to show me a picture of the metal clip at the end of the cord.

Finally, in the case of each size, please also give me the exact weight of the sash they support, down to the ounce.

Hi Tom
Can you deduct the weight of the slash from the stamp on the balance? when you say slash do you mean the windows alone without the 2 balances?
Thanks

We can deduce the sash weight from the stamps, yes, but there's a slight hitch in regards to that process. For full transparency, your balances aren't made anymore. This is a discontinued and obsolete model.

The good news is that there's a modern iteration that works in all the same applications. It looks a little different but functions the same way. The problem is, though, that the spring calibrations are all slightly off. They overlap for the most part, but there are enough gaps in how the stamps are calibrated that we need to ask for sash weight as a matter of policy. Keep in mind that custom balances cannot be returned for refund, so we have to be thorough.

For clarity, the sash is the glass panel that the balances are lifting. We need the weight of that panel alone.

Hello Tom,

For the  25 5/8" balance  the weight of the sash is 32,2 pound

and for the 21-5/8" the weight is 10,2 pound.

I have a new problem : the top sash guides were broken. I coudn't find a similar one in your in your inventory but I attched a picture with measurment may be you can guide me.

length = 1-1/2"; width 5/8"; upper sircle to the top = 1/4" ; lower circle to the top = 7/8"

I hope you can help find an equivalent guide

Thanks

Elias

Perfect, thanks! That's all the info we needed. Please let me verify the availability and stamp for these weights in the new model and I'll get back to you soon.

In regards to the top sash guide, I know exactly what this is. This is the old Milgard brand guide. They don't make this anymore and we can't supply it, but the good news is that you can make our 18-009 work. The catch is that you have to trim the top lip down to be flush with the body, since otherwise it sticks out too far. But it's the same size otherwise and historically it's been used with great success to replace the old Milgard.

Tom,

I was searching and found the 18-188 it does have more accurate measurement ? Do you agree?

The 18-188 historically doesn't work for this window. Can you verify that all dimensions are the same? If so, I suppose you can give it a shot. At the end of the day the measurements are the final deciding factor.

Otherwise, we have the availability and cost on our end. I'll email you a purchase link now for two 25-5/8" balances, and four 21-5/8" balances.

Certainly! I just changed the quantity and sent you a new link for 2 of each.

I cannot add the 18-009 to this link as it's not a custom part. You can just add that to your cart before you checkout directly from our catalog.
