channel replacement for single hung windows

Quick Learner from Sacramento, CA
Original windows were manufactured by Jordan Windows (no longer in business). Some channel(s) have sprung above single hung operable window and can no longer be held open. Please provide suggested channel replacement part. Photos illustrate installed condition, top & bottom of channel, channel dimension, and stamp identifier on channel. Let me know if you need additional photos to assist.

Unfortunately, I can't see the attachments from the proper angle to narrow down which balance this is. It's certainly one of our half-inch channel balances, but I need to see if there are wings on the back heel of the shoe or not. Take another photo of the top and bottom attachments, but with the heel exposed, as shown below. The photo just shows the bottom attachments, but I'll want to see the top attachments from the same angle, too.

Oh, well that's convenient! You have a Series 351 or Series 390 balance. You see, I just grabbed a random photo (up in my last post) to show you the shoes, but I actually ended up coincidentally choosing a diagram that shows the two shoes you may have. See how similar they look? All you need to do is check the size.

Measure as shown in my diagram above. If you have the 1-1/8" shoe, choose S390-29, and if you have the 1" shoe, choose S351-29. The "28 3" on your balance channel is a weight code. Our equivalent code is "2830" and you can find that as an option on our site when you go to order.
