Hello,

We'd be happy to look into this for you, but we'll need a bit more information to get started. If you could show us the fittings at the end of the operator arms detached from the sash track, that would help us narrow down your options. Thank you!

Had time to get to church to take photos and measurements. The travel rail is 28 inch long, the outside screw holes are 7 inches wide. The two windows I need to repair have the gear missing, short of cut the unit off. Is there a way to open the window to remove the opening unit?

Take a look at the 39-312 and 39-454 awning operators below. Review the specifications to see if either of these matches your original operator. We also offer the 39-583 window track, but you should be able to reuse the original window track if it's still in good shape. Take a look at all the related hardware, along with the related videos on this page.

Any suggestions on how to get the broken windows open to remove the unit. Gear is missing. Short of cutting it off.

If you are referring to the "worm gear" that the handle attaches to, that could be a problem. If you still have the worm gear on hand, try putting it back into the operator base while pushing the handle and gear to turn and open the window.

If that doesn't work, you could try slowly prying open the window with a small flat bar like the 75-081 or a flat chisel like the 75-026. Also, spray some lubricant like WD-40 into the worm hole. Have someone on the inside of the window carefully push the sash out while someone on the outside tries to pry it open with a chisel. Be careful not to break the glass and make sure to wear protective goggles and gloves to prevent injury.

So I would say that the color is bronze, is clay the closes one?

Clay is a lighter bronze color. The darker option would be black, but that might be too dark compared to the original operator. I'd be happy to check with our inventory manager to see if a bronze color option is available. We'll just need to know which product code you're considering.

Thank you for confirming. We'll just need a bit of time to see if the 39-312 is available in bronze. We'll let you know as soon as more information is available.

I believe we can supply the bronze color options, but it will take at least 5-6 weeks to come in. Let us know if you're okay with waiting. Also, see the bronze color option of the compatible handle below.
