coil balance assistance

A home owner from Family Room says:
The coil has broke on 3 windows of the 10 we have in room. Alside windows will not repair, says out of warranty. They were put in the room in 2002 new. The sash/ window weighed 16lbs. So I am assuming we need a coil spring of 8lbs on each side. I have no clue what to order and the size.

Hi there. It's a bit difficult to make out your pivot shoe in these pictures. The identity of the pivot shoe determines the identity of the coil balances. I think your shoe might be our 15-175, but carefully go over the pictures and the width and thickness to confirm. If so, the 15-175 is compatible with our Series 152 coil springs. You are correct, if your window sash weighs exactly 16 lbs, then our S152-8 8 lb coil spring on either side of the sash would be the right spring support. Let us know if you have any questions.
