coil balance replacement

Question

I am trying to replace a coil balance in my window. The company that produced it was called LBL windows in the Pacific Northwest and is no longer in business. I have taken some photos which show the attachment at the top and the mechanism with 2 coils. I haven't yet taken it out because there is no slot in the channel to take it out from. I assume I will have to cut one at the top of the window. Can you identify a replacement for this device?

Hi Gary. It looks like you have a 15-087 Pivot Shoe, along with the 15-086 Housing Assembly. This system uses Series 180 Coil Balances. Yes, you can form a cutout in the jamb track to get this assembly out. The video below shows how to do this for a different balance system that installs a bit differently than yours, but the principles of forming the cutout are nevertheless the same. For the vent latch, start by looking at our 26-122. Let me know if you have further questions.
