convert mirror door hardware

Handy Person from Sacramento, ca
hello,
I just bought a house with mirrored closet doors that have the track and rollers at the bottom. we put in new hardwood floors and don't want to put the bottom track on the wood.
I was wondering if I can convert the door hardware and track system to top mounted? if so, please let me know what I need to purchase and what information you need.

I will attach a pic of the bottom roller and top guide that are currently on the doors.

thank you
Shane

Thanks for posting. I don't know if you can convert this door to be top hanging. Top hanging mirror doors aren't really made because of the weight of mirror doors. You may want to consider purchasing new closet doors.

I just did the same thing in my home, Shane, and I too did not want to put a track over my newly finished floors. I replaced the mirror doors with primed wooden bifold doors, I only had to install two brackets at the base of the opening, and the track at the top, another benefit for me was that I could now fully access my closet because the doors fold open completely.

thank you for the responses. it is helpful. my wife likes bi-fold for the same reason Donna. I really like the mirrors since they are dual purpose, and I already have 10 mirror doors that came with the house! I may just have to put the track down on the hardwood with minimum screws.
thanks again, Shane
