crank handle pin

A home owner from Chicago says:
The pin that holds the handle to the crank mechanism rises up as the window opens and I can't get it to go back down.
Can you tell me how to get the pin into the proper location?
Thank you.

Your handle looks similar to our, 39-376 which has that same pin you show in your photo. I would suggest pressing it back in place with the help of a hammer and center punch. You could also press it back in place using a bench vise. Use tape on the handle so as to not to damage the white finish, then remove it when the project is done.
