do each of these two handle secure with a set screw? Or is one handle attached permanently to the shaft?
I am looking for two individual handles, each with a set screw, in brass.

Thanks for contacting us. Only one of these handles has a set screw. If you watch the video associated with the 40-101, you can see the part where we install the handles on the door. I will also post it below.
