40-145 did not match my old Forever door handle

A contractor from Burlington, Vt says:

I ordered a handle # 40-145 order #977661 for a Forever door, this is not the correct one. The door is a Traditional style, pre 2000 year. Brass outside handle with a square shaft. do you have other handles, I need the inside handle.

How does the part you need differ from our 40-145? Give us dimensions, and ideally a photo of the handle, and we will try to find a substitute.

my customers existing handle has a 5/16" square shaft that goes through the door to the outside and inside handle. Also the part of this inside handle that latches to the jamb keeper has an open slot that hooks on the jamb keeper. Hard to explain but it is different then the # 40-145.

Seeing a picture of your hardware would be a huge help. I've seen a lot of doors in my time and there's a good chance I can recognize yours just by seeing it. At the very least, I can tell you if it's not around anymore. That said, we have a wide selection of replacement options and there's a good chance we can find something that will work.
