double coil spring replacement part

Question

need help identifying the correct replacement part from your site.  it may not be evident in the photo but the bottom plastic piece is cracked and won't hold the window in place.  Also need to understand how to determine the coil balance weight

Thanks for writing in. See our 15-180 Pivot Shoe. This shoe is compatible with our Series 190 Coil Balances. To determine what spring weights you need, weigh your window sash. Divide that exact weight in half, and you'll know what spring weight support you need on each side of the sash. For instance, if your window weighed 20 lbs, you could use (2) of the S190-540 5 lb springs on both sides of the window sash. Sometimes stamp codes on the coil springs will also tell you the spring weight you need. Let us know if you have any questions.
