double key cylinder

Question

I have a double key cylinder inside and out. Want to replace it with a key outside and a thumb turn inside for ease of emergency exit. I can,t figure out how to remove the cylinder to install the new one. Have not bought the new cylinder yet for this exact same door. The 40-214 set looks exactly like mine. Can you help. Tom

When it comes to the 40-214, there's no real trick to removing the key cylinder. Once you unscrew the handles from the door, it should all come apart fairly easily. Where exactly are you running into trouble? Can you show me pictures of your hardware?
