drawer slide back of cabinet bracket with dowel inserts

30 year old Merrilat drawer back of cabinet socket that we found out had 2 dowels inserted in the cabinet.  After removing the broken pieces still attached to the cabinet, we had a heck of a time trying to get the final 2 pieces out.  They wouldn't pry off, so after thinking about it for awhile, my husband got out his drill and was able to back out the 2 remaining pieces that were indeed dowels not just a flat backing.  My question is do you have a replacement product that has the 2 dowel pieces in the back plate or will we need to get a flat back piece and use screws to attach it?
