It looks like you may have a cross bow balance that has been discontinued and no longer available. We do offer an alternative route for this, but we will need to see photos showing the entire balance, including any attachments on the end. We will also need to know the length of the part. Thank you.

A quick learner from central Massachusetts says:
Hi. Ok,discontinued parts, so what replacement assy. should work?
Center plastic tube is 1/4" o.d. and 21 1/4" long.
Spring is abt. 7/16" o.d.and 10 1/4" long.
Shoe is 1/2" wide and abt. 1 1/16" squared off.
rectangular sliding piece is about 7/16" x 9/16" x 1 5/8", with vertical hole in center for center plastic rod.

Also, smaller windows
w 19 1/4" long rod and 7" long spring. Other dimensions seem the same.

Thank you! Like Manuella said, this is an old rod type balance that isn't made anymore. Thankfully, our Series 775 channel balance ought to work for you as a replacement. The only catch is that you'll have to weigh your sash on a scale to determine the proper stamp option, since the channel type has a different spring rating system than the old rod type.

A quick learner from central Massachusetts says:
Thaks, Manuela & Tom. I'll go back to the house, weigh a couple of sashes, take a pic that includes the terminal piece, and measure again. jc

Sounds great. We'll be here!

A quick learner from central Massachusetts says:
For starters, I'll fix the windows that have sashes weighing 11 pounds.
In this string, you should have all the pics you need. Most pics of mechanism show it next to a yardstick or ruler for measurement.

Looks like you have a 22" long balance with a 1-1/4" wide bottom wedge shoe. Therefore, you can uses our S775-22 with a 2200 stamp for a sash weighing 6 through 17 pounds.
