extended travel balance

Hi,
I have a few windows with the balance slided out.
Is it something that can be fixed by replacing the balance or something else.
I don't see any physical damages on the balance itself.

Hello,

It sounds like the top sash guides that hole your balances in place below the sash may be breaking, which is why they shoot to the top of the window. We would need to see an intact guide removed from one of your windows to compare to our inventory. See the video below and related on this page to assist you.

Hi, please for your quick response.
I took the window out and snapped some pictures.
I can see two of balancers look different even though they both shot out. One looks like the hook is broken,
I took some measurements, the width is 1/2 and the length is 20 in.

We can supply your replacement balances but it will need to be a custom order due to the length, extended travel pulley system and unique combination of end attachments. Also, note that these balances stamped with 19 6 should measure 19-5/8" long, not including the end fittings. We'll just need to confirm the exact number of replacements that you need, with the minimum being two.

As for the top sash guide, we do not carry an exact replacement but we've related a few similar options on this page for you to review. You'll need to careful compare the dimensions of your guide to the ones shown on our product pages. Also, note that some of the guides have a flat top that extends around the top of the guide, which would likely need to be shaved down to be installed in your sash frame opening. We can't make any guarantees but look them over and see what you think.

Hi,

Sorry for taking so long to get back. I was trying to get measurements from all the bad windows and place an order for everything.
Since it is taking me a long time so for now I would like to order what I know so far.

I would like to order 2 pcs of the balancers as discussed and 4 pcs of the sash guild part no. 18-188.

Please let me know how to proceed.
