I was given this slider and though it has an indoor lever lock I would like to get a new lock set that would allow me to use the lever lock inside but a key lock system for the outside

Hello,

Take a look and compare the specifications of the 82-030 handle set with 3-15/16" installation holes to your assembly. It does not come with an external key lock but is compatible with the 82-310 that is sold separately. Take a look at these products and related videos to determine if this could work for your door. if I am going to be using the 82-030 and the 82-310 to put an external door lock on my sliding patio door do I need a 82-315 with this configuration?

The 82-030 does not require the housing that comes with the 82-315 since it has a protrusion on the external handle. The 82-310 is the same keylock as the 82-315 without the housing that would not be needed for this application.
