folding crank handle

The part of the folding crank handle which has a set screw to fix the handle onto the Crank Operator has worn and cracked at the hinge. I don't know how to measure the bore of this part. The external diameter of the part, which surrounds the bore, is about 1/2". The bore including its grooves for the teeth of the crank post, about 5/16". The bore internal to and not includeing these teeth is about 1/4". The handle has a small swiveling tip, somewhat cone shaped. Not counting this tip, the handle is about 3 3/4" long. Do you sell the replacement part? I am unable to identify the manufacturer.

We'd be happy to help but we would like to see a photo of your entire crank with the window open so that the arms that move the sash and the base are fully visible. If we can identify the assembly, that will help us determine which handles would be compatible. Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to us. Your operator looks like a unique design that I am not familiar with. We may still be able to help but we would like to see the entire operator removed from the window so that the base and the fitting that attaches to the sash track are visible to determine if we carry a compatible handle and cover. It would also help to confirm the exact diameter of the spline that the handle attaches to.

Casey-- You ask me to remove the entire operator from the window. This is beyond my expertise. You say it is a "unique design" but it's probably just 20+ years old. You ask for exact measurements, but I have already sent you measurements to the nearest 1/16". I do not have tools with greater precision than a tape measure. So I can only infer that you simply don't have a compatible part, unless I am prepared to replace the entire crank mechanism, which as indicated above, I can't do. Time to call a contractor.

Unfortunately, I suspect that you are correct that we do not carry a replacement handle and cover kit that would fit your operator base. I'm sorry that we won't be able to assist with this repair but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions. Thanks for posting.
