hook latch for sliding glass door.

Question

hi, I am having a hard time finding a new hook replacement for my sliding glass door. The door no longer locks. The hook does not catch. All the replacements I have found have thicker hooks and won't go into the hole on the door frame. As you can see the hook I have is very thin. These doors are over 20 years old. Can you advise?

We have several mortise locks that look similar to yours, chief among them being our 82-218 and 82-243, but the hook size on each of these is standard. To my knowledge, the manufacturer does not vary that particular detail in any mortise locks that I know of. Looking at your photo, it doesn't look particularly thinner than anything I've ever dealt with.

I can only say that your keeper also resembles our 89-017, and that our 82-218 and 82-243 are both fully compatible with this keeper.
