how do you lube or coax a pile done a track with poor access?

A quick learner from Lake Forest, CA says:
I have the 3/16 x 3/16 gray pile weatherseal and difficult track to slide through. The current width is shown and so the 3/16 should slide down

In the picture I cannot push, or pull using a screw driver, the pile the length of the track. I get about 1/4 the way. You can see I have poor access to the track.

Are there any tricks, like soaping or waxing the plastic part of the pile? Is there something like a string to pull the pile through? Thoughts on tools?

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Being a metal sash, the company might have pinned the wool pile track to prevent the pile from sliding. It is usually a few inches from each end of the sash. You will need to slide a thin putty knife type blade along the track to open up the channel. I hope this helps. Get back to us and let us know how you make out.
