Looks like you have an older Simonton window model. I'm just not sure what the problem is you need to fix, so I don't know what advice to give. You mention the sliding mechanism. Could you mean the balance? Simonton windows have been known to use side load channel balances. See the videos on the right side of this page, they may help.
