How do you get the balance shoe back into the channel when you are replacing a S790-24 balance?

You will need a pair of vise grip type pliers. First attach the balancer into the window track with the shoe toward the bottom. Next pull the shoe down from the bottom of the balancer and attach the vise grip pliers on the cord at the end of the balancer so the shoe can hang freely with out tension. In the window track there should be a cut out half way up. That cut out is where the shoe fits into. Next place the shoe into the track and push down on the metal lock so the shoe locks into the track. After the shoe is secured, slowly take the slack out of the balancer cord and remove the vise grip pliers. Remember, the balancer cording is under extreme pressure. Wear safety glasses and work gloves to avoid injury to your eyes and hands.
