Is there installation guide for Product Code: 84-229? Specifically, I am curious how to position that round plastic piece (white)? It won't secure tightly with this piece for some reason...

Thanks for posting. Are you referring to the round screw cover? Is the problem you're having on an old handle set, or new one? If this is the older handle set originally installed on your door, it could be that yours is worn down. That is usually why they don't secure correctly, in my experience.
