how to know pile size

A quick learner from Illinois says:
My weather stripping is 3/16 wide, but I cant tell how long the pile is supposed to be because it is all mashed down. Any ideas for measuring that? I wanted to order replacement but wasn't sure how to measure to know I get the right size. Any help is appreciated.

It is hard to tell what height wool pile you need when they're worn down like that, but there isn't much you can do if you can't get a good sample. The most reliable method is probably measuring the space between the slot that it slides into and the frame to see what kind of space it is that you're working with.
