how to remove balances?
Thanks for posting. You are correct, normally there'd be two holes to hold a take-out clip. Sometimes it's just one hole, but it would have to be a rectangle. Is there another window in the house that still has its take-out clips? If so, you could see how the clips are installed in that window. If not, your other option is to drill a holes on either side of the sash and install a screw as a temporary measure. The screws can effectively perform the same role as take-out clips, catching the channel balances for removal.
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. When you say the clips are plastic, does that mean you ended up finding your take out clips? Putting the sash back in the window should be a matter of just reversing the process. Can you go into more detail? Where exactly are you running into issues? Can we see your plastic take out clips?
The plastic pieces that hold the top of the balancer are mounted to the window, on the side. So how do I get the window back into the track once I get the new balancers. Right now I can take the window out because there are no balancers. But when I try to put the balancer back the window won't fit inside the track.
Do I put the balancers inside the track on the outside frame? or do they go on the window first? when trying to reinstall the window into the Track?
Thanks
Thanks for clarifying. I see you ordered our Series 380 channel balance. With that in mind, watch the video below. This shows you the method we used to replace them. At the end of the video you can see how we put the sash back into the frame.
