I have a caradco casement window. How do I remove the crank handle? There is no set screw.

It would depend on what you have. Caradco uses all kinds of different crank handles. If there is no set screw, it may be pressure fit, in which case it just pops off. There isn't really any trick to it in the case of pressure fit handles.

I just want to be sure that using a little pressure, perhaps using a slot head screwdriver, will not damage the handle.
The cover over the crank mechanism is not set into the wood of the window but wiggles freely, but to get to that crank mechanism, I have to get the cover off. To get the cover off I have to remove the crank handle.
So I should just pop the crank handle off, pull it off, or pry it off using a screwdriver?

Assuming your handle is the same style as the newer 39-114L, for example, it should just snap on and off. If yours is older, it might have a set screw, as many older handles have. I can't know for sure without seeing yours.
