Looking to have this balance identified as well as created if it's custom.

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm afraid I'm not sure I understand your description of how this balance works. Looking at your photos, I'm seeing a balance where the cord extends from the bottom to hook into the shoe (shown in your first photo), but I'm also seeing a balance where the cord comes out of the top to hook into the jamb (final photo). Are you saying this is the same balance?

To be transparent, there is no balance made where the cord comes out of both the top and the bottom. That's simply not done. It's not even something that can be custom made, since the way balances work as a basic principle would prohibit it. The cord either comes out of the top end, or it comes out of the bottom end, but never both.

I'm pretty sure that you're showing me two different balance types here. If so, this is an issue. I know you said that you can't take more photos, but at this stage it's going to be necessary. If you're showing two different balances, I need to know which one is the type you're trying to replace. If it's both, I'll definitely need more photos and information for each one, since each type is only showing half the story.

Typically, it's important to remove a balance from a window before you take photos for identification. Otherwise too many important details are obscured, and it leads to confusion like this. All details need to be accounted for, clearly and without obstruction. Proper procedure for identify balances necessitates removing them twice: once for identification, and once for replacement. I know it's a hassle but it has to be done. Believe me, it's worth the trouble since it will save you having to return to the client's house multiple times.
