How do you install this track cover?

Home Owner from Clemmons, NC
I am about to order your 6' track cover for my aluminum sliding door. My existing track has some dips in it in several places. How should I build up those dips so the rack will not dip in the same places? What material would you recommend as a filler? Any other tips that would help?

Good afternoon, and thanks for posting! My suggestion would be to use a small grinder or file to try and smooth out the dips. Some repairmen use epoxy, but that can get messy.

Once the track is smoothed down, what you want to do is then take a wood block and mallet and gently tap the 80-102 cover over it. Start from one end and work your way down to the other, using the wood block to cushion your mallet so as to not damage the cover.

There's no trick to it beyond that, you just want to take your time. The cover has a risk of rolling as you tap it on so just be patient and you'll get it installed in no time!
