I am looking to replace a number of my jalousie window operators (probably 6-10). Could you tell me the difference in quality between the 39-005 and 39-346? The previous owner had replaced many of them at some point and the replacement parts broke quickly.

If you can use the standard 39-005 operator, I feel this is a better choice because the arm is riveted by the manufacturer. This operator has also been the main stay for many jalousies. The 39-346 is for older and custom jalousies that the standard operator won't cover. One reason many operators fail is because the arms that hold the glass become corroded from the air and need to be clean and lubricated to operate smoothly.

Thank you. Measured the arms and the upper half of my operators need an arm of at least 4.25", so looks like the 39-346 will have to do. I agree regarding 50 year old aluminum getting a tad stiff if not properly lubricated.
