just ordered one of these

Quick Learner from Pennsylvania
just ordered one of these for an old Traco sliding glass patio door. It fit the door perfectly and appeared to be identical to what was left of the original. After several hours of frustration it appears the "key slot" described at 45-degree is not what we need. When we move our inside lock / unlock lever fully it will not deploy the lock mechanism fully. If we rotate the lever to next possible engagement then we cannot fully retract the lock mechanism because the indoor lever is out of travel. what is odd is it works perfectly with just a small flat screwdriver in the key slot to rotate the mechanism. is there any rotational adjustment or suggestions? its almost as if the "key slot" needs to be at 90-degree.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. However, I'm not sure what product it is you're referring to exactly. Could you provide the exact product code for the part you're having trouble with? I'll then do my best to assist you.

Seeing a photo of the new and old part side by side would also be a huge help. I know you already said that they're identical, but you'd be surprised when small, seemingly insignificant details come into play. At the very least, seeing the two parts side by side will allow us to rule out the possibility that they're different.
